On the 29th of June Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin will defend his WBA middleweight title against Matthew 'Mack the knife' Macklin.

Kazakhstan's Gennady Golovkin is one of boxing's rising stars and is rapidly becoming a fan favourite. With a record of 26-0, with 23 KO's. He has knocked out his last 13 opponents, I can see why.

Birmingham's own Matthew Macklin in his last fight scored a first round knockout against Joachim Alcine. Also back in match 2012 he put up a brave performance against the 160lbs division king Sergio Martinez. Knocking him down once as trading shots with him until Macklin ran out of gas and was stopped in the 11th round.

Although Macklin lost the fight against one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in Martinez, he is coming up against a younger more powerful fighter in Golovkin. I feel with Golovkin's balance and superior punching power, Macklin won't be coming out fast in the the fight to try and dictate the pace. I see the fight starting slow with Golovkin picking shots before stopping the fight with another KO or TKO in the middle rounds. For me Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin picks up his 27th win, with 24 by way of knockout.
